Izoard Quilted Gilet

(9 customer reviews)

A insulated gilet delivering serious warmth in a feather-light, stylish package.

Designed to be the warmest top layer available on the market, since receiving our sample, it has been used as much off the bike, as on this winter.   The Izoard uses a super-soft, high denier fabric similar to fabrics used in mountaineering sleeping bags. The garment remains soft to the touch and very low bulk, so it can be easily packed away until you need it. The side panels are in a high stretch Super-Roubaix® fabric that provides incredible ‘fit’ accommodation and regulates core temperature. The ActiveSport® utilises 35g/m  Synthetic insulation keeps on performing even when it’s wet and provides full windproof and showerproof core protection.

We have 3M reflective highlights on the full, front zip and on the rear sides. The massive, rear pocket is big enough to hold all essentials and can be accessed from both, zippered sides and has long, 3M reflective trim.

We have a 3M full reflective trim on the front SBS zip.  We have  also an internal, chest Phone/wallet pocket for your valuables.

Stitched to last. Timeless style and performance

Often ridiculed for the amount of gilets I own, I now consider myself an expert in the field… In all seriousness this thing is awesome quality and real good value. It’s lightweight and whilst not tested in the coldest weather I can tell it’s going to be great. It looks good off the bike too, in fact i’m wearing it at work right now. Been after something like this for a while. Well done Galibier. Sizing chart is spot on. It’s definitely windproof, seems like it would be pretty waterproof too. Looks like it ticks all the boxes. I’m impressed.

Used this for the first time on an over night 100 mile ride.
Rolls small enough to fit perfectly in the rear pockets of the Gino wind jacket.
Starting temp was around 17-19 degrees…but it dropped to around 2 degrees for a good few hours through the night. Would not have known the temp was so low.
Used over the Gino Wind Jacket and Mistral base layer, never felt the chill. Heard a few other riders wearing other brands say they were feeling cold or felt a chill on the decent and over night.

Hats off to the team at Galibier for another excellent product that would appear to out-perform other more expensive brands.

    Love this!
The temperature has now dropped in the mornings (Yorkshire) and this has been brilliant on the morning commutes. Great at keeping the core warm and stopping wind chill on descents. Can see this becoming my favorite cycling garment. Rolls up small enough to go in the back pocket for return journey if warmer.
Also looks good off the bike. Used it hiking in the Swiss Alps recently.

I have used this extensively since I bought it. It is very warm and breathable. I do like the fit as well. It looks good on the bike and off. My only gripe is that the arm holes are slightly too big, for a cyclists with spindly arms it can let draft in under the arms when wearing just a long sleeve windproof base layer. She I wore my long sleeves jersey over tue base layer with the gipet it was ok but stromg winds made it in a bit.

What a great piece of kit! Had mine for a few weeks now, has not failed to keep me warm and comfortable on cold club runs and if you get too hot if easily packs down to fit in a jersey pocket. Plus I’ve worn it a few times ‘off bike’ and has drawn quite a few admiring comments – so a winning gilet on all counts. Opted for a size small (64.5kg/5’10”) and the Galibier sizing is spot on.

I love it. I cycle along Portobello promenade (Edinburgh)6 days a week and I recently purchased the gilet to keep out the cold wind blowing across the sea. I am 5’11 and ~ 83kg. The Large fits like a glove and it really does keep the wind out. I am fairly new to cycling and I have only just started to venture down the worm hole of trying to identify good quality cycling gear at a raeasonable price that also looks good. Galibier certainly ticks all 3 boxes for me and I am sure I will be returning for further clothing as the seasons unfold.

Quality item. Using it on daily commutes for a few weeks now, as still chilly in the mornings. Keeps core nice and warm without overheating.
I have worn this as casual (non-bike) wear on a few occasions too and it works great for that too. Doesn’t scream “cyclist”, and looks very smart.
As per usual with Galibier it’s quality at a very reasonable price.

This is a brilliant garment in all except one respect. It fits well, its warm and it does what it should, except the front zip has been parting by itself almost as soon as I started wearing it. The zip presumably is not YKK as it says ‘SBS’ on it and is sadly feeble. This may apply only to previous versions as I bought it several months ago?
Anyway – if the zip has been changed, I would not hesitate, as it’s otherwise well-made and very functional – the piece of clothing you don’t know you need until you have it.

The first time (I think!) that I’ve not given full marks to a Galibier product (apart from 1 jersey – all my stuff is Galibier). I’ve only been wearing it for a week (I commute to work via bike) and the zip is giving way. I don’t understand why it’s not beter quality – it should be YKK like the rest of the Galibier stuff.

The actual gilet is fantastic though – keeps the core amazingly warm. It looks and performs great – just a massive shame about the zip.

(Please return for exchange as we stand over the quality of all our garments)
